Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about using VocaScript.
Why did my Dropbox link fail?
Most often it is a folder link rather than a file link. A folder link lists many files at once, so open the folder, share each audio or video file you want transcribed, and paste that file's link.
Does the file need to be public?
The file needs a share link that opens without signing in to Dropbox. If your team has limited links to its own members, upload the file instead.
Which file types work?
Any common audio or video file stored in Dropbox, such as MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4 and MOV. Documents, spreadsheets and images have no audio to transcribe.
How long can a Dropbox file be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each file. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer file from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
