Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about using VocaScript.

Which podcast links work?
Paste the link to a single episode. A link to a whole show or feed does not work, because it points to many episodes at once. Episode links from Apple Podcasts and Spotify work in most cases, as do episode pages on hosts such as Acast and Buzzsprout and direct links to an MP3 file.
Where do I find the link to a single episode?
In Apple Podcasts or Spotify, open the episode itself, select Share and copy the link. A Spotify episode link contains /episode/, and an Apple Podcasts episode link contains ?i= followed by a number. A link without these points to the whole show.
Can I transcribe my own episodes before they are public?
Yes. If you publish the show, upload the episode file on the audio file page. It is the most reliable option, and it works before the episode is public.
How long can an episode be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each episode. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer episode from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Can I transcribe every episode of a show at once?
Not in a single step. Each episode is transcribed from its own link. Without an account you can run 3 transcriptions per day; a free account allows 15 transcriptions per day, within 120 transcription minutes per month. Paid plans have no daily limit.
Can I use the transcript for show notes?
Yes. Export it as TXT and edit it into show notes, a blog post or a newsletter. Timestamps stay on every segment, so you can list the time each topic starts.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
