  3. 3 The transcript covers what is said on stream, with a timestamp on every segment. Chat messages are not part of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about using VocaScript.

Which Twitch videos can I transcribe?
Past broadcasts, highlights and clips all transcribe from their link. Highlights and clips stay until they are deleted.
Why does an older VOD link no longer work?
Twitch removes past broadcasts after a set period that depends on the channel. Once a VOD is gone, its link cannot be transcribed. Highlights do not expire, so a creator who wants a transcript later can save the broadcast as a highlight first.
Is Twitch chat included in the transcript?
No. The transcript covers the audio of the stream: the streamer, guests and anything played on stream. Chat messages are not part of the video, so they are not transcribed.
How long can a Twitch stream be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each broadcast. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer broadcast from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
What do streamers use the transcript for?
YouTube descriptions and chapters for a long broadcast, captions for highlight edits, quotes for social posts, and searchable notes of what was said in a past stream. Timestamps on every segment make it quick to find a moment in the VOD.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
