How to transcribe a Telegram voice message
- 1 Open Telegram Web in a browser with the VocaScript extension installed.
- 2 Open the chat and use the extension on the voice message. The transcript appears under it.
- 3 Saved files work too: upload a voice message (OGG) or a video from Telegram on the audio file or video file page.
- 4 Export the transcript as TXT for free, or as SRT or VTT on a paid plan.

Which voice messages can I transcribe?
Voice messages from chats and groups you are in. Each transcript stays next to its message and in your VocaScript library.
I use the Telegram desktop app. What should I do?
The extension works in Telegram Web in the browser, not in the desktop app. In the desktop app, save the voice message or video and upload the file here.
Which version of Telegram Web does the extension work on?
Both versions, at web.telegram.org/k and web.telegram.org/a.
Can I transcribe a long audio post from a channel?
Save the audio from the post and upload it on the audio file page. Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each file. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer file from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Which languages are supported?
More than 100, detected automatically for each message, so a chat with messages in different languages is handled message by message.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
