Can I transcribe a podcast hosted on SoundCloud?
Yes. Many podcasts publish every episode as a SoundCloud track. Paste the link to the episode track, and the transcript labels the hosts and guests as separate speakers.
Can I transcribe a SoundCloud playlist or album?
Not in one step. Playlist and album links, which contain /sets/, point to several tracks at once, so paste the link to each track separately. Public tracks transcribe reliably from their link.
I uploaded the track myself. Is there a faster way?
If you have the original file, upload it on the audio file page. It skips the link step and works for tracks that are not public yet.
How long can a SoundCloud track be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each track. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer track from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
What can I do with the transcript of a track?
Add it to the track description, publish it as a text version of an interview or lecture, or pull quotes for social posts. Timestamps on every segment point to the moment in the track.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
