How to transcribe an Instagram Reel
- 1 In Instagram, open the Reel or video post, select the share icon, then Copy link.
- 2 Paste the link above and select "Process Media".

Which Instagram videos can I transcribe?
Reels and video posts from public accounts transcribe from their link in most cases. Stories disappear after 24 hours and need a signed-in session, so their links usually fail.
Why did my Instagram link fail?
Instagram asks many visitors to sign in before a Reel plays, and a pasted link cannot sign in. Stories and removed Reels fail as well. The browser extension transcribes from your own signed-in session.
Do Reels fit the free limits?
Most Reels are under 3 minutes, within the 5-minute limit for use without an account. Without an account you can run 3 transcriptions per day, and a free account allows 15 transcriptions per day.
What can I do with a Reel transcript?
Creators use transcripts to write captions, turn a Reel into a blog post or newsletter, and add SRT captions when they post the same video to YouTube.
Can I get captions for my own Reel?
Paid plans export SRT and VTT files with the original timing, for video editors and YouTube. On the free plan, export the TXT transcript and paste it into your caption.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
