How to transcribe a Facebook video

Can I transcribe a video from a Facebook group?
Videos in public groups and on public pages work from their link. When a video only plays after you sign in, use the browser extension, which transcribes it from your own signed-in session.
Why did my Facebook link fail?
The usual causes are an fb.watch short link, a link to a whole page or profile instead of one video, a removed video, or a video that only plays after signing in. For the last case, the browser extension works from your own signed-in session.
Do fb.watch links work?
Not yet. Open the link in your browser first, then copy the full facebook.com address from the address bar and paste that instead.
Do Facebook Reels work?
Yes. Copy the Reel link from the share menu and paste it above. Most Reels are short enough to fit within the 5-minute limit for use without an account.
Can I transcribe a Facebook Live video?
Yes, once Facebook has saved it as a recording on the page. Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each video. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer video from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
