Why did my anchor.fm link fail?
Old anchor.fm addresses do not always lead to an episode any more. Search for the episode in Apple Podcasts or Spotify and paste its episode link.
What happened to Anchor?
Spotify retired the Anchor name in 2023. Shows that were hosted on Anchor are now managed through Spotify, and their episodes are still listed in Spotify and in other podcast apps.
Can I upload my own episodes instead?
Yes. If you host the show, uploading the episode file on the audio file page is the most reliable option, and it works before an episode is published.
How long can an Anchor episode be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each episode. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer episode from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Can the transcript help with chapters?
Yes. Keep the timestamps when you export the TXT file, and use them to list the time each topic starts in your episode description.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
