Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about using VocaScript.

Where are Teams recordings saved?
Recordings of regular meetings are saved to the organizer's OneDrive, in a folder named Recordings. Channel meeting recordings are saved to the team's SharePoint site. The meeting chat links to the recording in both cases.
Can I paste a Teams recording link?
No. Teams recordings are stored in OneDrive or SharePoint and open only for people signed in to your organization, so VocaScript cannot open the link. Upload the recording file instead.
Teams can create its own transcript. When is VocaScript useful?
When Teams transcription was off during the meeting, when you only have the recording file, or when you want an editable transcript you can export as TXT, SRT or VTT.
Will everyone in the meeting be labeled?
Each person who speaks is detected and labeled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. Renaming a speaker once updates every segment they spoke, which makes minutes quick to write.
How long can a Teams recording be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each file. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer file from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
