How to transcribe a Nebula video
- 1 Install the VocaScript browser extension and sign in to Nebula in the same browser.
- 2 Open the video on nebula.tv, select the VocaScript icon in your browser toolbar, then "Start Transcription".
- 3 The video is transcribed using your signed-in browser session.
- 4 Export the transcript as TXT for free, or as SRT or VTT on a paid plan.

Why did my Nebula link fail?
Nebula videos only play for viewers who are signed in, and a pasted link does not carry a sign-in, so it cannot be processed. Use the browser extension on the video page instead: it works from your own browser, where you are already signed in to Nebula.
Is uploading the original file better?
If you made the video, yes. The upload needs no sign-in, gives the same transcript and works for videos that are not published yet.
What do creators use Nebula transcripts for?
Creators use transcripts of their own videos for captions, video descriptions and written versions of their work, such as an article or a newsletter based on the video.
How long can a Nebula video be?
Without an account, one transcription covers up to 5 minutes of each video. A free account covers up to 25 minutes per transcription, within 120 minutes per month, and you can continue a longer video from where its transcript stopped. Paid plans cover up to 4 hours per transcription on Plus, 8 hours on Pro and 16 hours on Max.
Is VocaScript free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can transcribe without an account. A free account gives you more minutes, longer transcriptions and your transcripts on every device. If you reach a limit as a guest, sign in and try again from the same page.
